A settlement agreement is a legally binding contract between you and your employer. By signing it, you are typically agreeing to waive your right to bring certain employment claims — often in exchange for a financial payment.
The devil is in the detail. The figures, the clauses, and the warranties you give, not to mention the rights you unknowingly may sign away — all of it matters. Moreover, once you have signed, there is no going back.
